 10/26/2009 SHPP on reserved flow
STUDIO FROSIO was previously involved in the projects of HPP fed by the reserved flow of Santa Giustina, Mollaro and Barbellino dams. At present altogether sixteen new projects are being carried out on the reserved flow of weirs on rivers Po, Adda, Mincio, Adige, Serio, Oglio, Brembo and Chiese. The plant scheme allows to regain part of the energy production lost due to the discharge of reserved flow and, at the same time, guarantees the presence of a discharge never lower than reserved flow in the river below the diversion.

10/1/2009 Low head HHP with no diversion channel

Eight new projects located in the provinces of Brescia, Mantova, Cremona and Forlì Cesena are being carried out by Studio Frosio; the characteristic of these projects is the power station built beside a river weir, with no diversion channel. Some of the advantages connected with this plant scheme are space-saving structures and the maintenance of the river ecosystem continuity, so that there is no obligation concerning reserved flow.

 10/1/2009 Predarossa HPP

In August ’09 Predarossa HPP began its continuous production. Works lasted 14 months and faced the winter heavy snowfalls: at the intake area (2.000 m s.l.m.) the snow layer reached a height of 4m and lasted until late May.

The HPP, provided with two identical Pelton turbines, is located in Val Masino (SO), it’s characterized by a rated flow of 1,8 m3/s and a nominal head of 480 m; the installed capacity is 7MW.

5/29/2008 Editorial on “Strade e Autostrade”
The magazine “Strade & Autostrade” , in issue n. 69 (May-June 2008) published a photo of a consolidation work on a slope in Parre (BG). The slope consolidation was part of the works planned by Studio Frosio for the refurbishing of the Parre hydropower plant. The reason why the magazine took interest in this work is the use of geomats in order to prevent soil erosion. The consolidation of the slope, where a previous landslide had occurred, was achieved thanks to both slope reshaping and laying of geomats.
